Consistency Verification of Marker-Less Gait Assessment System for Stair Walking

چکیده
The number of elderly people is drastically increasing. To support them, the gait information is under the spotlight since it has the relationship between the fall risk and dementia. Among other scenarios, a relatively higher level of ability is needed for the stair walking as it requires balancing and loading. Conventionally, 3D motion capture devices have been used to acquire the param‐ eters of stair walking. However, it is difficult to acquire daily parameters as the equipment needs complicated preparation and body-worn markers. In this study, we propose a system which can acquire daily stair walking parameters using only depth data obtained by Kinect v2 without restraining by markers. We confirmed the accuracy of our proposed system compared with a 3D motion capture system.

Changes in Gait and Texting Ability During Progressively Difficult Gait Tasks
To investigate the effects of a cell phone texting task on an individual's ability to perform three ambulation-based tasks, each with different and progressively more difficult demands. 36 participants (24 male/12 female, average age 23.4) performed: a Timed Up & Go (TUG), stair ambulation (STAIR), and tandem gait (TAN). Participants completed each gait-based task under four conditions: as a pr...
متن کاملStair ascent and descent at different inclinations.
The aim of this study was to investigate the biomechanics and motor co-ordination in humans during stair climbing at different inclinations. Ten normal subjects ascended and descended a five-step staircase at three different inclinations (24 degrees, 30 degrees, 42 degrees ). Three steps were instrumented with force sensors and provided 6 dof ground reactions. Kinematics was analysed by a camer...
متن کاملRegional plantar pressure during walking, stair ascent and descent.
Regional plantar pressures during stair walking may be injurious in at risk populations. However, limited data are available examining the reliability of plantar pressure data collected during stair walking. The aims of this study were three fold; to assess the reliability of the plantar pressure data recorded during stair walking, to assess the effects of level ground and stair walking on plan...
متن کاملA moving fluoroscope to capture tibiofemoral kinematics during complete cycles of free level and downhill walking as well as stair descent
Videofluoroscopy has been shown to provide essential information in the evaluation of the functionality of total knee arthroplasties. However, due to the limitation in the field of view, most systems can only assess knee kinematics during highly restricted movements. To avoid the limitations of a static image intensifier, a moving fluoroscope has been presented as a standalone system that allow...
متن کاملLower extremity kinematics and kinetics during level walking and stair climbing in subjects with triple arthrodesis or subtalar fusion.
The purpose of this study was to identify the kinematic and kinetic strategies used by patients with unilateral triple arthrodesis or subtalar fusion during level walking, stair ascent, stair descent and to determine the influence of these different conditions on kinematics and kinetics. Nine subjects with unilateral triple or subtalar fusion and five normal control subjects were recruited for ...
